If you’ve not gotten your fill of crafting and building in the incredibly addictive world of Minecraft , venture into the PS4 edition which will feature even BIGGER worlds than ever before.
Harnessing the power of the next-gen tech, Mojang’s Owen Hill promises an increase by a factor 36 TIMES over Minecraft ’s PS3 counterpart. Also, if you’ve already spent hours (if not weeks) meticulously creating expansive structures, there’s no reason to start from scratch. The team has assured that your PS3 save data will transfer over to the upgrade (allowing you to just pick up where you left off).
While jumping to the latest iteration might seem like a no-brainier for some, what does the PS4 bring to the table that will convince fans to switch from their last-gen version? Hill explains the touchpad functionality of the new DualShock is just one of the many new features available. Via the PlayStation.Blog, he states, “You’ll be able to navigate all the menus (and craft) by using the touchpad and, of course, share and stream your experiences thanks to PS4′s built-in social thingymabobs…There’ll be a heap of Trophies to be earned for the hunters, and a bunch of Sony-specific DLC coming soon after release.”
PS3 owners will need to pay a small fee to upgrade, if they choose to jump ship upon the game’s release this August.
