Wii Fit U Getting New Update

Wii Fit U Getting New Update

Fitness aficionados are in luck, as Nintendo is going to release a brand new free content update for Wii Fit U . The update will be adding new Fit Meter challenges, which work in conjunction with the Wii Fit Meter Pedometer. For those of you who don’t know what this is, it’s a tiny device that measures both your steps walked and altitude climbed in order to figure out how many calories you burn in a normal day.

Wii Fit Meter Challenges take the number of steps you have walked and compare it with real world locations, so that you can have a sense of accomplishment. For example, the Wii Fit Meter will record your altitude and steps taken and use it to show how close you are to summiting Mount Everest… you know… over the course of a year or so just by climbing stairs.

The new update will add twelve new walking challenges and twelve new climbing challenges. They will allow you to virtually walk through several different countries and landmarks and will contain tangential cultural information as well.

Finally, the new update will also include changes to the My Routine mode, which allows players to move from one activity to the next automatically. This prevents workout interruptions by fiddling with the controller.
