Battlefield 3 Anti-Cheat Software Is Banning Legitimate Players

Battlefield 3 Anti-Cheat Software Is Banning Legitimate Players

Battlefield 3 utilizes Punkbuster, an externally run anti-cheat software that tries to weed out anybody from making alterations to the game. The software automatically bans people who are caught cheating… which is unfortunate because some legitimate players are being banned by the software for no good reason. EA spoke a bit about the problem on the official help website, although they noted that since they don’t own Punkbuster, progress on the issue is slow.

“We are investigating an issue of Punkbuster bans that were incorrectly applied to some of our players,” reads the post. “Please understand that our game advisers are not able to access or overturn Punkbuster bans, but we’re working with our partners at Even Balance to get this resolved as quickly as possible.”

If you have been affected by these bugs, feel free to appeal to EA via the official instructions they posted on their help website.
