The Humble Store has Raised $1 Million for Charity so Far

In a humbling post published on Humble Bundle’s official blog on Monday, June 23, it was announced that the Humble Store’s combined purchases have amounted to $1 million raised for charity since November, 2013.

This milestone was reached by contributing 10 percent of every purchase made in the Humble Store to several causes around the world, including purchases made in seasonal sales and various other deals and occasions.

In November 2013, we cut the digital ribbon on the Humble Store and humbly launched with nine games at incredible discounts, ” Humble Bundle wrote in the post. “ As part of our commitment to charity, 10% of every sale is allocated toward several great causes. Through our Debut Sale, Winter and Spring Sales and more than 500 titles later, the $1 million milestone has been reached and we have you to thank.

Over time, since the store’s opening, the fruits of this $1 million milestone has been distributed across five different charities–all of which are listed below.

  • Disaster relief via the American Red Cross ;

  • Providing games to sick children in hospitals through Child’s Play ;

  • Fighting for digital rights alongside the Electronic Frontier Foundation ;

  • Conservation of threatened habitats and wildlife with the World Land Trust ; and

  • Access to clean water in developing nations through charity: water .

Humble Bundle will continue to contribute 10 percent of every purchase made in the Humble Store to these charities. Here’s to the next $1 million raised for charity!
