Check out World of Warcraft’s New Human Male

Revealed on Wednesday, June 25, World of Warcraft’s art director Chris Robinson took a moment to talk about the new male Human model in a blog post published on Battle.net.

“As with the previous model redesigns, our goal here was to honor the silhouette and style of the original, while increasing fidelity and fixing some of the big issues we’d identified,” Robinson wrote in the blog post.

“The male Human has long been a source of criticism from some of you for his odd proportions and face geometry. We’ve taken great care to ensure we’re not changing so much that he looks completely unlike anything you’d expect, while also correcting some of the more glaring problems,” he added. “We hope you enjoy the results!”

The model update is a part of Blizzard Entertainment’s movement to update the visual fidelity of all World of Warcraft’s races in preparation of the release of the MMO’s upcoming expansion, Warlords of Draenor which went into Alpha back in April .

So far, Blizzard has updated the models for dwarves, gnomes, female humans and female orcs. We’ll bring you more details on World of Warcraft’s Warlords of Draenor expansion should further information reach our ears.
