As detailed in a press release published on Tuesday, July 1, the online counterpart of Grand Theft Auto V , GTA Online , will be receiving additional content in celebration of Independence Day, which includes new guns, new cars and new properties galore.
Coined as the “ Independence Day Special ”, you’ll soon have two new sweet-ass rides to perform drive-bys with: the Sovereign motorcycle and the super-sized Liberator monster trick. Additionally, in spirit of the late 18th century, remember to carry with you your brand new Musket to your next heist.
If there aren’t fireworks happening, fire off a few rounds with the Firework Rocket Launcher at one of seven new properties.
Located in Paleto Bay and Vinewood Hills, the new properties provide plenty of yard space for you to make your own fireworks show. Choosing from up to 12 different varieties with different fuse lengths, and accompanied with the Firework Rocket Launcher, the backyard of your new property will certainly be the centre of attention, if not only for the inevitable noise complaints.
Once you’re done with launching off spectacular fireworks, be sure to remember that the Ferris Whale and the Leviathan Roller Coaster will be available down at the Pleasure Pier. Why not whip out your new and glamorous “Made in the U.S.A.” t-shirt and get your hair done into a backwoods mullet too? Oh, and on the return journey, feel free to rob a few banks with a new animal mask that features the bald eagle.
Sound fun? Well, you better cash in on it quickly, because it’s only a limited time offer. The season content will be available to redeem in-game, and it’ll be available until mid-July.

Don’t worry about putting your wallet on the line, as this batch of content comes as part of an automatic update that’ll also introduce additional game tuning updates and adjustments, including the new On Call Matchmaking function.
This new function allows for players to accept a Job invite and continue playing in Free Mode until that Job fills up, thus reducing the time spent idling while waiting for the Job to start. The update’s full patch notes can be read via Rockstar Games’ official support website .
The Independance Day Special will be automatically downloaded when you next start up Grand Theft Auto V for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Xbox 360 users will be prompted to download an additional compatibility pack upon entering GTA Online .
