As reported by the Associated Press on Wednesday, July 3, film actress Lindsay Lohan is suing Grand Theft Auto V distributor Take-Two Interactive over an in-game character that is an “ unequivocal ” reference to her likeness.
According to the Associated Press, Lohan has said that the latest addition to the Grand Theft Auto franchise features a character that she claims to be based on her image without her permission.
After several months since Lohan first declared she’d be taking legal action against Take-Two Interactive, her lawsuit was filed on Wednesday, July 3 in a Manhattan court. Both Take-Two Interactive and its subsidiary Rockstar Games declined to comment.
The character in which Lohan is referring to is named Lacey Jonas, her lawsuit against Take-Two Interactive says that Lohan’s image, voice and her style of clothing are depicted in Lacey Jonas. What’s more, the lawsuit also says Grand Theft Auto V features West Hollywood’s Chateau Marmont hotel, where Lohan once lived.
