Planet Hulk Film Rumor-Killer Is Official

Planet Hulk Film Rumor-Killer Is Official

While many have suggested that a stand-alone Hulk film (which depicts the events of the Planet Hulk series) is secretly in development, it now appears this was all just baseless internet gossip ( SHOCKING !).

Gearing up for the release of their next mega-hit Guardians of the Galaxy next month, Marvel President Kevin Feige and writer James Gunn finally addressed these rumors in the press.  Feige took a softer approach in shooting it down by saying “There are no plans for Planet Hulk anytime soon. I think what’s cool about the Planet Hulk story is it’s all Hulk… I don’t think that’s the first place we would go though…60 percent of the fun would be seeing Mark Ruffalo leading a Marvel movie — and that’s what we would do if we ever went down that road.”

Gunn however is far less-reserved, and flat out called these unfounded reports complete non-sense (accept using far more colorful language). “It is absolute, 100% bullsh*t. It feels like a great relief to finally say this after all the dumb stuff on the Internet. There’s not going to be a ‘ Planet Hulk ’ movie, there was never going to be a ‘ Planet Hulk ’ movie, there was never a plan for the Hulk to team up with the Guardians of the Galaxy – I wouldn’t want the Hulk to team up with the Guardians of the Galaxy! And it’s all a bunch of complete bullsh*t.”

While Planet Hulk may never happen in live-action, actor Mark Ruffalo has stated he’d like to see a solo project outside Avengers happen at some point. We’ll bring you more as it becomes available.
