Maxis studios hasn’t been working on a new IP since Spore , but it looks like they are now. A brand new unannounced IP has started development in the studio, If we can believe a new EA job posting. The job posting calls for people familiar with such games as Minecraft, LittleBigPlanet, and Project Spark . It also refers to “content creation tools and editors,” “technology trees,” “in-game economics,” “multiplayer gameplay mechanics,” and “mobile and tablet companion application integration.” There are also mentions to “character RPG-style leveling dsign and mathematical loot progression modeling.”
So the new project is some sort of sim, sandbox, loot RPG, with crowsourced content, and tech trees. Neat! We will bring you more information about Maxis’s new project as it becomes available.
