Titanfall’s “Update 5” brings in-game currency, daily challenges and More

As reported by MP1st on Wednesday, July 23, Titanfall developer Respawn has Entertainment revealed a few details regarding Titanfall’s “Update 5” during a livestream for the game’s upcoming Frontier’s Edge DLC .

According to Titanfall community manager Abbie Heppe, Titanfall’s Update 5 is slated to launch alongside Frontier’s Edge .

The game’s Update 5 itself is said to introduce “Black Market” in-game currency, which will allow for players to be able to accumulate gold generated from in-game activities without paying real-life money. Specifically, in-game currency can be earned by completing in-game challenges or by selling unwanted Burn Cards.

Players will also be able to use the in-game currency to buy preferred Burn Cards and even the additional Titan insignias that were introduced in Titanfall’s Update 4 . Furthermore, Update 5 will also bring about Daily Challenges to the game.

According to MP1st, Update 5 will include other improvements as well, such as notifications as to when a friendly Pilot is riding your Titan, new DLC achievements, multi-GPU support for PC players, and a number of other significant fixes and performance optimizations for the 120Hz bug, frame rate issues, screen tearing and bandwidth.

To top it off, Respawn will also be introducing a new “Gen 1” player emblem. What’s more, the developer has also confirmed that the two-on-two gamemode “Wingman Last Titan Standing” will soon replace “Marked for Death” in Titanfall’s Featured Playlist. The Marked for Death gamemode itself will still be available in Private Matches.

Titanfall’s release dates for both Frontier’s Edge and Update 5 are still to be announced. We’ll bring you more specifics on Titanfall’s Update 5 should further information reach our ears.
