[ NOTE: Minor story-specific information of Halo: Nightfall’s storyline is detailed in this article, which may or may not be considered as spoilers; it is available to read at the bottom of this article to view at your own discretion. ]

As detailed in a PR document published on Friday, July 25, various details have been revealed regarding Ridley Scott’s Halo: Nightfall in a recently released fact sheet.

While some of these facts we have already established, there are several other things we haven’t established that are detailed in this particular fact sheet, which includes a cast list, storyline synopsis and details about the series itself.

For those who don’t know, Halo: Nightfall is the origins story of Halo’s new character, agent Jameson Locke , who’ll also be playing a key role in the next Halo game, Halo 5: Guardians . Locke is a legendary manhunter and member of the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI), which is Earth’s most powerful and most enigmatic military branch.

Halo: Nightfall itself will be a live-action digital series, not a feature movie. Both 343 Industries and Scott Free Productions will be working on the series. The series is said to continue the “ tradition of storytelling in the Halo universe, connecting the games and the series in innovative new ways.

Acclaimed director Ridley Scott will be the series’ executive producer, and it was confirmed back in late April that he was working on a Halo project . Scott Free TV’s president David Zucker will be the co-producer, and Halo: Nightfall’s director will be Sergio Mimica-Gezzan. The series’ writer will be Paul Scheuring.

Halo: Nightfall is slated to debut on Microsoft’s Xbox and Surface platforms on Tuesday, November 11, and the first episode will be available as part of Halo: The Master Chief Collection . The series will also be accessible digitally via Xbox Live in all regions where the game launches.

In Halo: Nightfall , Locke and his team of ONI agents are investigating terrorist “chatter” on a distant colony world, named “Sedra”, but they are then caught up in a horrific biological attack. Because of this attack, Locke’s team is forced to work with Randall Aiken, a local commander with both a remarkable history and a deep-rooted mistrust of ONI.

As the plot unravels, Locke’s team is drawn to an ancient, hellish artifact, and they soon have to fight for their survival, question everything and ultimately choose between their loyalties and their lives.
