Steam Controller Redesigned Again

Steam Controller Redesigned Again

With the advent of the Steam Box, Valve has been frequently redesigning their new Steam Controller. Originally, the controller only had touch pads. However, cries from gamers everywhere made Valve implement actual buttons. Now, the cries continue, with the internet shouting that they want tight accurate controls, and valve is still listening apparently as now they have included an analogue stick.

In fact, the current Steam Controller redesign has quite a few buttons. There is a right and left bumber and trigger on the back, a right and left touch pad which can also be depressed like a button, a right and left “grip” button, an analogue stick that can be depressed as a button, four face buttons, a “stop” button, a “play” button, and a home button. That makes it a sixteen button controller, and it doesn’t even have a d-pad!

Note that Valve hasn’t yet confirmed this to be their new controller design, so take this news with a grain of salt. Valve will be showing up to Gamescom this year, happening from August 13 th to the 17 th in Cologne, Germany. Maybe we will see a more complete version of the Steam Controller then.
