As revealed in a PR document published on Tuesday, August 5, the final fact sheet for Tango Gameworks’ The Evil Within has been released, and with it comes a definitive list of information regarding the game and its upcoming release.
Developed by the creator of the Resident Evil series, Shinji Mikami , and Tango Gameworks, The Evil Within is touted to embody the meaning of pure survival horror; “high-crafted environments”, “horrifying anxiety”, and an “intricate story” all feature to create a world that’s said to be both tense and immersive.
With limited resources to use, you’ll have to survive with what you can find. Furthermore, The Evil Within is boasted to make you “ experience profound fear in this perfect blend of horror and action. ”
The Evil Within’s story takes place while investigating a gruesome mass murder scene, where Detective Sebastian Castellanos and his partners encounter a powerful and mysterious force. After witnessing his team being slaughtered, Castellanos is then ambushed and knocked unconscious.
When he awakes, Castellanos finds himself in a world where hideous monsters wander among the dead. Facing “ unimaginable terror, ” Castellanos has to fight for survival while also trying to unravel who’s or what’s behind the powerful force from before.

The Evil Within is slated to release in North America on Tuesday, October 14; in Australia on Thursday, October 16; and in Europe on Friday, October 17 for PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
