I don’t need to sit here and sell you on the merits of how unbelievable a game like GTA V is, as most of you have probably already experienced it for yourself by this point. The question is, what can we expect from the re-release on the next-gen?
I whole damn lot according to Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick! In a recent interview, he emphatically states, “…nothing but the very best will satisfy developer Rockstar Games. They want to blow consumers away. Whatever the expectation is, they want to exceed it. When you see GTA V on next-gen…I can guarantee it will be better.”
While it’s easy to understand how some might see this as a way for the two gaming giants to simply milk their cash-cow of a franchise, Zelnick insists this is not the case. “We really are driven by our passion for the business. I know it sounds hard to believe from capitalists, which we also are, but what keeps us up at night and gets us here early in the morning and makes us excited, is that we pride ourselves on making the best interactive entertainment in the business. We are not trying to deliver the minimum acceptable quality and monetize it. We are trying to delight consumers and monetize it.” He says.
The revamped, next-gen version of GTA V hits stores sometime this Fall.
