Street Fighter fans have been on the edge of their seats, wondering whether or not their famous fighting game series would go next generation, and now we have some concrete evidence that it will. Capcom producer Yoshinori Ono has confirmed that current gen consoles will be getting a Street Fighter game, though this may not be Street Fighter IV . He was asked about it on twitter and his response was, “Sometime or another.”
Unfortunately, Wii U users are out of luck. Ono also revealed that Capcom has no plans to bring Street Fighter to the Wii U. This follows Ubisoft CEO’s Yves Guillemot’s announcement that “mature” games simply don’t seem to sell on the Wii U. It looks like Nintendo has carved themselves a deep enough family friendly niche that they can’t get out.
