Netflix Creates User Interface for Oculus Rift

Netflix Creates User Interface for Oculus Rift

Netflix engineers recently created a special Oculus Rift user interface. Yes, this means that you will be able to watch your favorite videos and movies in virtual reality. Well.. sort of. It’s not like you get to be put inside the show, but it is like the show is pressed right up against your eyes.

The UI dubbed Oculix allows you to control Netflix using hand and head gesture controls. Shows and movies float around in virtual space, and you look around for them like you would look for an actual object, and by reaching out for it, you can activate it.

That being said, the UI was made as a project for Hack Day, and that’s all it is right now, a hack. This may never actually be integrated into the Oculus Rift or be an official feature of Netflix.
