As reported by Eurogamer on Wednesday, August 20, Sheldon Pacotti, the writer for the iconic action role-playing game Deus Ex and its sequel, Invisible War , has launched a Kickstarter campaign for a card game that combines espionage with thriller.
The card game in question, named “ Sienna Storm ”, is co-developed Tony Evans, who worked on Knights of the Old Republic 2 and Neverwinter Nights 2 . Joining the duo is Darrell Hardy, who has worked on Magic the Gathering: Tactics , along with other developers, too.
As it currently stands (at the time of writing), the kickstarter campaign has 314 backers who have contributed $11,251 out of the campaign’s $179,000 goal.
Sienna Storm ’s card mechanics, Pacotti told Eurogamer, is part character building, part looting and part strategy. According to Eurogamer, at the start of each turn you modify your deck to best suit a given situation accordingly.
Sienna Storm is so far being focused on PC, but a stretch goal details that Pacotti and his team will also develop a Mac version if enough money is raised.
