As detailed in a press release published on Thursday, August 28, Nintendo has announced limited editions of the upcoming remakes of Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire , Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire , which’ll be available for both 3DS and 2DS.
Coined as “Limited Edition SteelBook”, the limited editions for each game will be released as software bundles, both of which will contain a copy of their respective games packaged in the standalone casings.
However, the casings themselves will be packaged inside a metallic case that displays the Primal Evolution of the appropriate Legendary pokémon; Pokémon Omega Ruby Limited Edition SteelBook and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire Limited Edition SteelBook will have Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre respectively. Artwork depicting both pokémon is featured on the inside of the casing for both games.
In addition to a metallic case, the Limited Edition SteelBook also ships with additional goodies if you pre-order them from selected participating stores, namely via GAME, ShopTo.Net or the Official Nintendo UK Store.
Pre-orders will only be available while supplies last, and a list of the extra goodies you’ll receive (which includes figurines and keyrings, depending on the retailer) has been detailed below, courtesy of the press release. Don’t worry, some of the goodies will be available if you choose to just pre-order a standalone game, too.
Those who pre-order either Pokémon Omega Ruby or Pokémon Alpha Sapphire Limited Edition SteelBook offering via The Official Nintendo UK Store will also receive a Legendary Figurine. Those pre-ordering the Pokémon Alpha Sapphire Limited Edition SteelBook from the Official Nintendo UK Store will receive a miniature representation of Primal Kyogre, whilst those ordering pre-ordering the Pokémon Omega Ruby will receive a miniature representation of Primal Groudon. Both are ideal as collectibles for fans.
Those who pre-order eithe r Pokémon Omega Ruby or Pokémon Alpha Sapphire as a standalone game from GAME will receive one Legendary Figurine of either Primal Groudon ( Pokémon Omega Ruby ) or Primal Kyogre ( Pokémon Alpha Sapphire ).
Those who pre-order either Pokémon Omega Ruby or Pokémon Alpha Sapphire as a standalone game from ShopTo.net will receive a 2D Keyring of Torchic, one of the three starter Pokémon in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire .
Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire will launch in the US on Friday, November 21 . A European release is slated for the following week on Friday, November 28.
