Destiny Likely Too Big To Finish Says Bungie

Destiny Likely Too Big To Finish Says Bungie

If you’ve watched the news or follow politics over the last few years, you’ve probably heard the term “…too big to fail.” But can a game really be too big to finish?

Bungie recently touted the sheer size and scope of their upcoming sci-fi shooter, believing that the innovative new MMO element will make it almost impossible for gamers to experience everything there is to see here. In regards to the multiplayer component knows as the Crucible, they state, “Until you’ve kicked every single ass that plays this game, you haven’t finished. And once you have, someone else just bought their first copy. So, fresh meat, Christmas noobs.”

These statements are in stark contrast to the general opinion coming out of the beta period which recently concluded, where gamer’s expressed criticism that the Destiny universe didn’t really seem expansive enough. However, David Dague (Bungie Community Manager whom we heard from above) says that other modes will also increase the longevity of the title and should not be overlooked by players. “If you’re a speed-runner, and all you want to do is blaze through and complete one story mission after one story mission, you’re really just scratching the surface, because the Strikes add such an extra level of complexity.” He warns.

Destiny has officially gone “gold” over the weekend and will hit store shelves on September 9 th .
