Team Meat Explains Why They Put Mew-Genics on Hold

Team Meat recently announced that they’re back on track with Super Meat Boy Forever , which they had previously  put off developing in favor of their cat lady simulator, Mew-Genics . Now the tables have turned, as Team Meat has decided put Mew-Genics on hold.

The biggest reason for the hiatus is that Mew-Genics has evolved into something that goes beyond Team Meat’s original vision for the game. “[We] shouldn’t have been talking about it as much in the beginning as we did, because the game expanded beyond what it originally was,” explained Refenes to Joystiq. “Even some of the posts that we made in the beginning, that stuff doesn’t exist in the game anymore.”

Fortunately, the team has stated that the game is not canceled. Instead, they’re waiting to figure out how to turn Mew-Genics into a “coherent” game. Refenes also went on to say that Super Meat Boy Forever will “definitely” come about before Mew-Genics . Team Meat will release Super Meat Boy Forever for iOS, Android and PC in 2015, meaning we’ll have to wait a while for their cat lady simulator.
