As discovered by Wowhead user Haldur on Thursday, September 4, confirmation of there actually being an NPC tribute to the late Robin Williams has been found in the Warlords of Draenor Beta of World of Warcraft .
It was reportedly rumored for sometime that multiple NPC tributes to Williams had been implemented into the game, and this one in particular is the first one confirmed: a character inspired by Genie from Disney’s Aladdin .
The genie NPC, appropriately named Robin, was found on an island off of Talador’s coast, where he was summoned by Haldur rubbing the Ever-Burning Lamp. According to Wowhead, when Robin is first summoned he exclaims “ Infinite cosmic power, ” and then shrinks down and waves goodbye, saying “ itty bitty living space. ”
Wowhead has also datamined that other Robin Williams tributes include Mrs. Doubtfire, Mork, and possibly a potential tribute to the movie Toys .
Warlords of Draenor entered Alpha testing back in April , and as part of its test Blizzard Entertainment will be making use of public servers to host data, meaning that you may experience some datamined information cropping up in unusual places.
