This story is starting to get old. Xbox One fans are waiting on the edge of their seat to see when their console of choice starts outselling the PS4 but it just isn’t happening. According to August’s NPD numbers, the PS4 is still king of the next generation consoles. It has held this title for the eighth straight month and it doesn’t look like it will be dethroned any time soon.
Guy Longworth, PlayStation Marketings senior vice president, wrote in a statement, “PlayStation 4 was number one in hardware sales for the eighth consecutive month and remains the cumulative leader for next generation game consoles.” He also added, “For the third consecutive month, PlayStation was number one in combined home console hardware sales (PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3).”
