As reported by IGN on Friday, September 12, the recently released shooter Destiny has been subject to exploitation resulting in players gaining unlimited ammo through the use of hacks and mods. Furthermore, an unlimited money tutorial was also recently published.
According to IGN, video tutorials of hacks and mods being used to gain unlimited ammo have been cropping up on YouTube. Even though Destiny has only been out for a week at the time of writing, it’s thought that these hacks and mods could potentially lead to consequences that could affect the game’s multiplayer.
The mods and hacks in questions are said to apply to all weapons, including heavy weapons. Most of them are also said to boast that you can empty entire clips of ammunition without ever having to reload your weapon or find additional ammo when the clips should run dry.
According to IGN, a couple of tutorials for the hacks / mods relate to the Xbox 360 version of Destiny , and it’s not currently known whether or not this is an isolated phenomenon or if the game’s other release platforms are also affected.
Furthermore, according to VgamerZ, a hack for the game that results in unlimited money (or “glimmer points”) has also been found, with a tutorial explaining how it works available on YouTube. This has allowed for players to buy all types of items and services from in-game vendors.
Bungie has announced that you’ll be able to upgrade the digital versions of the recently released Destiny from Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Sony’s PlayStation 3 to their respective successors, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.
