Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Soundtrack to be Available Next Month

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Soundtrack to be Available Next Month

As detailed in a press release published on Wednesday, September 16, the original soundtrack for the forthcoming addition to the Borderlands franchise, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel , will be available to download and stream at the end of the month, with a 2-CD counterpart releasing in early-October.

The distributor behind the soundtrack, Sumthing Else Music Works, is described as a premier record label dedicated to licensing and releasing video game soundtracks.

The soundtrack for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will feature the original music from the game itself, which will be split accordingly onto each of the two CDs that’ll be available soon. The first CD includes music from the game that’s described as a “ pulsating electronic synthesizer sci-fi score. ” The music in the second CD includes ambient soundscape and synth-inspired combat music.

There are no traces of real instruments, everything is made with analog synths, drum machines and old gaming consoles. The music is my take on 1980s sci-fi music and electronic music and there’s everything from Commodore 64 and Sega Megadrive instruments to massive analog synths and vintage drum machines. It’s basically a headtrip through 1980s film-inspired electronic synth scores with my own twist on that genre, ” describes Jesper Kyd, the composer for the first CD of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel’s soundtrack.

The soundtrack for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will be available digitally via iTunes, Amazon and Something Else Music Works’ official website (and all major music streaming sites) on Tuesday, September 30, followed by the 2-CD counterpart on Tuesday, October 14, just in time for the game’s release in North America. Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will also be releasing internationally on Friday, October 17.

We’ll bring you more on Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel should further information reach our ears.
