Will You Buy Another Copy of GTA V?

While the success of Grand Theft Auto V has now become the stuff of gaming legend (breaking world records and posting huge sales numbers with the first few weeks of its launch), will a second next-gen release share the same success?

Take-Two certainly thinks so. In fact, they believe much of this revenue will come from repeat business, when those who already own a copy of GTA V upgrade to the next-gen consoles. According to Karl Slatoff (president of Take-Two Interactive), the revamp will offer so much in the way of impressive visuals and content, fans will have a no choice but to plop down another $60 bucks at the register.

However, what could be the most important aspect of this re-release is the potential to move hardware. Take-Two is banking on the idea that those who’ve yet to commit to a next-gen system, will finally pull the trigger (so to speak) in order to get their hands on this beefed-up version of Los Santos. “We happen to believe that there are people out there who have not bought the title yet. We think that GTA V on next-gen platforms could actually really move some hardware as well.” Slatoff says.

Grand Theft Auto V comes to the One and PS4 on November 18 th (but is delayed on the PC until January of next year).
