Master Chief Collection Not Coming to PC

Master Chief Collection Not Coming to PC

Sorry all you mouse and keyboard frag-heads out there, it would appear that dusting of your old copy of Halo C.E. is the closest you’ll get to seeing Master Chief wrack up any headshots on your desktop.

After a recent interview with 343 Industries executive producer Dan Ayoub, some gamers were disappointed to learn the only way to return to the epic multiplayer maps of Halo 2 is via the Xbox One. “We’ve definitely heard the questions about PC. Right now we’re a couple months out from the Xbox version’s release, and that’s our main focus right now. That’s quite honestly where all our headspace is right now.” Ayoub states.

While he doesn’t totally rule out the possibility for a later date, he does point to the sheer scope of the project as a huge technical hurdle they’d have to overcome in order to make it happen in the future. “From a technical standpoint, you look at the architecture of the Xbox One and there are some similarities to the architecture of a modern PC. That certainly makes that sort of cross-platform development easier. But beyond that the ease goes away. Master Chief Collection is massive. We have to coordinate four games, 100-plus maps, a lot of new cinematics, and Halo 2 Anniversary … We wanted to do a great job on console.” He says.

The Master Chief Collection hits store shelves on November 11 th exclusively for the Xbox One.
