Rumor: First-Person View for Vehicles and on Foot Leaked for GTA V

As spotted by a member of GTA Forums on Sunday, September 21, Grand Theft Auto V developer Rockstar Games may have accidently confirmed the inclusion of a first-person view for both vehicles and for walking around. The page on which this information was leaked was later deleted by Rockstar, but someone managed to capture the details beforehand. Rockstar listed off the new additions that’ll be implemented with the PC and the current-gen console versions of Grand Theft Auto V , which–as well as mention of a first-person view–include new easter eggs, new animals and an overhauled character selection screen.

“Grand Theft Auto V will take full advantage of the power of the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC with across-the-board graphical and technical improvements to deliver a stunning new level of detail, ” Rockstar supposedly wrote in response to a question regarding changes in the new versions of the game. Increased draw distances, finer texture details, denser traffic, and enhanced resolutions all work together to bring new life to the cities, towns, deserts and oceans of Rockstar North’s epic reimagining of Southern California.

“All new content and gameplay created since the launch of Grand Theft Auto Online , including an extensive array of new jobs, an arsenal of new weapons, scores of new vehicles, new properties and player customizations will also be available for the PlayStation 4 system, Xbox One and PC with much more to come. In addition, the current community of players will have the ability to transfer their Grand Theft Auto Online characters and progression to their choice of PlayStation 4, Xbox One or PC.

In addition, the post then listed off additional features that you’ll see in Grand Theft Auto V .

  • A brand new first person mode for vehicles that shows the interior of the vehicle, including working speedometers, tachometers, dash lights, and more

  • A brand new first person mode while on foot

  • A wealth of new easter eggs and random events for Story Mode

  • New animals roaming Los Santos

  • Animals in GTA Online?

  • Players that transfer characters from Xbox 360 or PS3 will receive free new weapons and a free garage in GTA Online

  • Newly overhauled character selection screen

Because the page containing this information has been deleted, it’s plausible that these new features are a hoax or are not final. It’s probably best to take this with a pinch of salt until it is officially confirmed by Rockstar.

The PC version of Grand Theft Auto V has been delayed by a couple of months compared to its Xbox One and PlayStation 4 counterparts. Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto V became available following its current-gen and PC announcement as this year’s E3 event , during Sony’s press conference. The PC port of the game is said to “ take full advantage of the power of the PC, ” according to its entry on Steam. It’s been confirmed that all of your saved progress in GTA Online , either on the Xbox 360 or the PlayStation 3, will be able to be transferred to the current-gen consoles’ version.
