Final Fantasy XV Actually Is About a Road Trip

Final Fantasy XV Actually Is About a Road Trip

Hajime Tabata, the new director for Final Fantasy XV, has said that the story really will focus on a road trip. You will get in a car and go on a journey and this will be the central theme of the game. “We’re designing it to be a road movie that you can experience as an RPG. You’ll feel the romance of going on a trip, and such,” Tabata said.

According to Tabata, the game is about fifty percent done. The basic systems are complete and Square Enix is ready to release a demo soon. However, if the demo isn’t well-received, Tabata says that he is willing to scrap things and return to the drawing board.

Dedicated fans may note that the director for the game has changed. Tetsuya Nomura used to be the director of Final Fantasy XV, until he devoted all of his efforts to Kingdom Hearts 3. But according to Tabata, the main characters and story are already determined by Nomura, and he is still very involved with the design process. The game will still be very true to Nomura’s original vision.
