PS4 Multiplayer Is Free This Weekend

PS4 Multiplayer Is Free This Weekend

The PS4 was different from the PS3 in that Sony introduced a monthly fee to be able to play online. This monthly fee is the same fee that allows you to join PlayStation Plus, which means that anyone who can play online will also receive free games. However, this still isn’t sitting well with some fans, so Sony is giving everyone a taste of what playing online on the PSN is like.

This weekend everyone will be able to play online on the PS4 for free. This includes multiplayer gameplay in Destiny, Madden ’15, FIFA ’15, Diablo III, and all other PS4 games.

A PS Plus subscription costs fifty dollars a year, a relatively small monthly fee, but it’s still more than some gamers are willing to pay. Sony says it needs the income to support the extra involvement that the Sony network team needed for the PS4’s online features.

What do you think? Should PS Plus be required for online play? Let us know in the comments.
