Nintendo and GameStop Hosting a Super Smash Bros. 3DS National Tournament

When Super Smash Bros. Brawl came out, Nintendo and Gamestop joined up to host a variety of launch day tournaments. Now, it appears as if they will be doing it all again. Local Gamestops will be hosting the first ever Super Smash Bros. 3DS National Open Tournament. The tournaments will all consist of 64 players and will feature 3 rounds of 4 players battles. Tournament slots will be on a first come first serve basis, and players will be able to bring their own Nintendo 3DSs but that is not required. Character customization will also play a big role in the tournament.

The top 16 players from all the local tournaments will travel to New York, where they will participate in the finals at Nintendo World on Octover 11 th . The finals will be broadcast over Nintendo’s Twitch and Youtube channels at 6PM Eastern.
