Koei Tecmo recently announced that a guest character will be showing up in the brand new Fatal Frame: The Black Haired Shrine Maiden for the Nintendo Wii U. The character is Ayane from the Dead or Alive series. She will be a playable character in the game, however you will need to beat the game to unlock her.
Ayane will have completely different missions from the normal game. Unlike the main character, she cannot take pictures in order to defeat spirits. Instead, she will have to sneak around the area and avoid beig sighted by vengeful ghosts. If she gets caught, she can use a special ninja script that lets her disappear and find a hiding space. She also has the use of a special spirit stone torch that can stun enemies, but won’t defeat them.
Ayane’s goal is to find a missing girl. She will have a special purple thread which will lead her to the girl, allowing Ayane to make her way through Hikami mountain. It will be far more open ended than the single-player campaign but story details at this point are slim.
Fatal Frame: The Black Haired Shrine Maiden will release on September 27 th in Japan for the Wii U.
