Closed Beta for The Crew Starts Next Week on Consoles

Closed Beta for The Crew Starts Next Week on Consoles

The upcoming closed beta for Ubisoft’s The Crew will launch on Xbox One and Playstation 4 on September 30 th .

The Crew is an open world racing game, much in the vein of Forza Horizon . The focus of the game is on, appropriately enough, crews, or essentially the racing game equivalent of guilds.

The game already had a beta period on the PC, which was met with mixed reactions. Some said the ability to drive around the entire U.S. was amazing, while others said that the beta included too much busy work and many times made you feel like you were just going through the motions to either watch numbers go up or to get to the next big event.

That being said, Ubisoft is reminding gamers that the beta will not be representative of the full game. For example, only two PvP lobbies will be accessible in the beta, and only courses in the US Midwest and East Coast will be available to be played in PvP.

The Crew is also coming to the Xbox 360, but Ubisoft has not announced a closed beta for that platform.

To participate in the beta, you need both a Uplay account. If you have one, head on over to the game’s official website to sign-up.
