The Evil Within Reveals Hard Drive Requirements

The Evil Within Reveals Hard Drive Requirements

There’s no doubt that, in this day and age of gaming, we’re constantly raising the bar in regards to what we expect from our hardware. Take the upcoming release of The Evil Within for example.

Even though the size of our hard drives has increased substantially over the years, 40 GB is a huge chunk to carve out for a single title by any measure. However, that is the challenge next-gen users will be faced with when Evil Within drops on October 14 th . Here is how the hard drive requirements breakdown for each system (on both the next and previous generations):

  • Xbox One = 40 GB
  • PlayStation 4 = 40 GB
  • PlayStation 3 = 7 GB
  • Xbox 360 = 7 GB

Also, PC users should expect a fairly high hurdle to jump in order to get this game running on their rigs, as the developer didn’t even release a “minimum system requirements” list. Essentially, you’ll need the following hardware to run this game smoothly (or save yourself some time and don’t bother):

  • 64-bit Windows 7/Windows 8
  • i7 with four-plus cores
  • 4 GB RAM
  • 50 GB of hard drive space (50 GB needed for install, but game will actually only take up around 41 GB of hard drive space, Bethesda says)
  • GeForce GTX 670 or equivalent with 4 GB of VRAM
  • High-speed internet connection
  • Steam account

It was also revealed today that the game has gone “Gold,” meaning it will be shipping to retailers very soon.
