If you had to be told that Guardians of the Galaxy was a box office success, you have been hiding under a rock… or maybe a sentient tree. The film just surpassed the original Iron Man to become the third highest grossing Marvel Studios film. It has pulled in $319 million so far, only being surpassed by the Avengers and Iron Man 3 . Iron Man 3 grossed $409 million and while it’s possible that we will see Guardians of the Galaxy surpass it, it is unlikely. The Avengers, however, is fairly safe at $623 million, a high total to break for any blockbuster.
