Check Out This DOOM Tribute Made from LEGO

LEGO has been the childhood gateway to creativity and construction for a fair number of people, I imagine, and the acclaimed first-person shooter DOOM was probably also a childhood gateway into the bombastic  shooter genre. So, why not mix the two as a tribute to the game?

That’s exactly what YouTube user Ochre Jelly did recently, and he published a short video on Monday, September 28 showing off his LEGO structure honoring the 20-year-old title. One thing to note about Ochre Jelly’s tribute to DOOM is the sheer amount of detail he has put into the sculpture’s depiction, which pretty much summarizes the game as a whole.

Down to the details on both the walls and floors; to the fireballs and missiles suspended on translucent stands; to the “DOOM” logo; and even the accuracy of the space marines and demons themselves, one might call Ochre Jelly’s LEGO sculpture to be a definite authentic homage to the game itself.

What’s more is that–if you want to see it in person–the sculpture will be available to view at this year’s BrickCon in Seattle, in October, and at next year’s Emerald City ComicCon in March, 2015.

In regard to LEGO and video games, officially-licensed Minecraft LEGO has been spotted online; two sets were sighted, both featuring the the default Minecraft character, Steve, and a few other things recognizable from the game. Someone even recreated Titanfall’s Kraber-AP sniper rifle from LEGO.

We’ll bring you more news on LEGO-inspired things should further information reach our ears.
