GTAV is the Largest Title on PS4 So Far, Requires 50Gb

GTAV is the Largest Title on PS4 So Far, Requires 50Gb

As reported by WCCFtech on Wednesday, October 8, the launch of Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto V on Sony’s PlayStation 4 will be the largest in the console’s library, as it will require a minimum of 50Gb of hard drive storage.

This is because, aside from enhanced visuals and in-game environments, the game will reportedly be packed with additional exclusive content, thus upping its file size.

Word of this came around when a user over on the GTAForums posted up an image of the game’s pre-order page on the European PlayStation Store. Along with some other details, the image itself revealed that the minimum disk space required for the latest addition to the Grand Theft Auto franchise would be 50Gb, which would accommodate the game in its entirety.

According to WCCFtech, this pretty much means that Grand Theft Auto V will consume at least roughly 1/10 of your PlayStation 4’s total 500Gb hard drive space. For perspective, the PlayStation 3 version of the game only had a minimum hard drive space requirement of just 18Gb.

The PC version of Grand Theft Auto V has been delayed by a couple of months compared to its Xbox One and PlayStation 4 counterparts. Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto V became available following its current-gen and PC announcement as this year’s E3 event , during Sony’s press conference. The PC port of the game is said to “ take full advantage of the power of the PC, ” according to its entry on Steam.

It’s been confirmed that all of your saved progress in GTA Online , either on the Xbox 360 or the PlayStation 3, will be able to be transferred to the current-gen consoles’ version.

Grand Theft Auto V is slated to release on Tuesday, November 18 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One . We’ll bring you more news on the game should further information reach our ears.
