You Can Upgrade Advanced Warfare to Current-gen Consoles for Free

As reported by MarketWatch on Wednesday, October 8, bigwig Call of Duty publisher, Activision, has announced that, for a limited time, those of you who buy the digital version of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 will be able to upgrade your respective versions to their current current-gen counterparts for free.

Those of you who buy the digital version of Advanced Warfare on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 by Tuesday, March 31 next year in 2015 will be eligible to download the digital version of the game on the Xbox One and / or the PlayStation at no extra cost.

Needless to say, those of you who purchase the game after March 31 will not be eligible for the free upgrade. The upgrade itself is also limited between console families, such as Xbox 360 to Xbox One and PlayStation 3 to PlayStation 4, and not PlayStation 3 to Xbox One for example. The upgrade also doesn’t apply to physical copies of the game.

As well as a full game transfer to a current-gen console, all your multiplayer stats will also be transferred over. This extends to all purchased DLC and Season Passes, too, as long as the respective Gamertag or PSN ID remains the same.

Also, digital copies of the game for the Xbox One will be made available to pre-order and pre-download soon. Digital versions of the game for PlayStation 4 are available to pre-order right now.

All pre-ordered digital versions will also receive the Day Zero Edition, which includes advanced early access of the game 24 hours ahead of its official release. Season Passes are now also available for the game, too.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is slated to launch for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 on Tuesday, November 4. We’ll bring you more news on the game should further information reach our ears.
