Xbox Head Touts PC Game Support…Again

Xbox Head Touts PC Game Support…Again

Say what you will regarding the struggles of Microsoft’s Xbox One console, when it comes to PC gaming, the company has provided the definitive platform for decades now. But what about its future moving forward?

In light of the recent announcement regarding their next (and supposedly last) generation of the Windows OS, Xbox Head Phil Spencer took time to recommit to their gaming presence on desktops in 2015 and beyond. During The Inner Circle’s podcast, Spencer said, “I thought the Windows 10 announce was good. I’ve said gaming on PC is incredibly important to me and I think incredibly important to this company.”

While this is likely something many PC users find reassuring, actions naturally speak louder than words. Microsoft’s showing on the desktop gaming front has been abysmal over the last few years, leading some to speculate services like Steam would eventually supplant them. However, Spencer again states they’re “…committed to us getting back to supporting both Xbox as much as we ever have, and also PC…We took gaming very seriously on Windows a while ago.”

Only time will tell if Microsoft can successfully juggle a renewed PC venture, while simultaneously attempting to pull their next-gen system out of its current rut.
