Half-Life 3 Crowdfunders Don’t Really Get Crowdfunding

Half-Life 3 Crowdfunders Don’t Really Get Crowdfunding

OK so… bear with me on this one. Half-Life 3 is going to be crowdfunded… but not the game. Rather, an advertising campaign is going to be launched should a recent campaign on indiegogo succeed. The campaign is set to be launched by a group of fans that want to create a buzz so big that Valve cannot ignore them. They are asking for $150,000 to start the advertising blitz which includes things such as Google Adwords campaigns, driving a truck around Valve’s office with a We Want Half-Life 3 sign on it, hiring Gabe Newell look-alikes to march on Valve headquarters wearing We Want Half-Life 3 t-shirts, and even holding a concert allowing fans themselves to speak directly to valve employees. The creators of the campaign have swore that they will not make any money on this and all proceeds will go towards… basically harassing Valve to get Half-Life 3 out.

The campaign has just launched and with 32 days left they have made 257 dollars of their goal with 28 different backers. I… don’t really know what else to say about this one. If you somehow want to devote your money to a bunch of fans pestering valve, here is a link to the official indiegogo page.
