Alien: Isolation’s First of Five DLC Packs Detailed, Adds New Maps and More

Even though Alien: Isolation has been around for just a few short weeks, there’s already DLC for the game peeping over the immediate horizon. Arriving in just a few a days, the game’s first downloadable add-on, “ Corporate Lockdown ”, will offer your three new “ challenging and terrifying ” maps for Alien: Isolation’s Survivor Mode, according to a PR email recently sent to me.

These new maps, which will be available in the middle of next week, are said to offer a new perspective on the events aboard Sevastopol Station in the days before what took place in the game itself. What’s more is that the DLC also introduces a new playable character, as well as a unique set of objectives and a new gamemode.

In Corporate Lockdown , Seegson executive Ransome (the new playable character) has learnt that he has been abandoned on Sevastopol Station, and plans to hitch a ride on the incoming Torrens, taking the decode Nostromo data along with him. Before doing so, however, he plans on tying a first loose ends first, which takes place across the three new challenge maps.

These new maps, “Severance”, “Scorched Earth” and “Loose Ends”, will challenge you to compete against others through Alien: Isolation’s online leaderboards to achieve the fastest time possible for escaping the station, or by getting the top score via numerous side-quests and hidden bonus objectives. As for the new game mode; Corporate Lockdown brings in Gauntlet Mode, which is where players are challenged to top the gamemode’s leaderboards by completing all three of the DLC’s challenge maps back-to-back without dying.

Corporate Lockdown is also the first of five planned DLCs for Alien: Isolation , with the other four, “ Trauma ”, “ Safe Haven ”, “ Lost Contact ” and “ The Trigger ”, following afterwards at an unspecified date. Each of these packs will include a new playable character, with a mix of new maps, objectives and game modes to boot. For those interested, the game’s Season Pass will offer all five if these Survivor Mode add-ons at up to a 25 percent discount. The four remaining DLCs are said to release by March next year.

Corporate Lockdown will be available to purchase on Tuesday, October 28 for $7.99 / €6.99 / £5.59, and it’s inferred that it’ll be available on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC.

Alien: Isolation was first announced back in early January, and the title’s story follows Ripley’s daughter, Amanda, 15 years after the events of Ridley Scott’s original Alien movie back in 1979. Alien: Isolation is touted to be an experience that will constantly keep you on edge and constantly keep your wits about you, especially since the Alien of the title will behave in an dynamic and organic way while it stalks and hunts you.

We’ll bring you more news on Alien: Isolation should further information reach our ears.
