Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Leaked Ahead of Time

Recently, gameplay footage of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has unfortunately leaked online. Apparently, a fan managed to get his hands on an early copy, but we aren’t quite sure how. Glen Schofield of Sledgehammer games says that the copy was stolen, and Twitch User Anfuny29, who streamed it this last weekend, hasn’t commented either. Anfuny29 showed off just a small bit of gameplay before his stream and his channel was shut down.

It is currently unclear whether or not Activision or Sledgehammer Games will take legal action against the streamer. However, Schofield seems to be taking it in stride, calling it a “major bummer.”

“We took 3 years 2 make a game. Kept it quiet 4 the fans & it has to be stolen & leaked a week b4. That sucks. A real bummer. Thanks a lot.” He said on Twitter.

Note that early copies of the game are not fully functional. The online servers, for example, are not up and running. So even if you got your own copy, you are probably best waiting for the official release date anyway.

We will bring you more updates on this story as it becomes available.
