Former Red Hot Chili Peppers Drummer Composed Far Cry 4’s Soundtrack

The Red Hot Chili Peppers, for those who don’t know, are an American rock band that started up back in 1983 and are still going strong today. The band’s former drummer, Cliff Martinez, who played in the first two records of Red Hot Chili Peppers, has moved on to become a well-known musical composer, whose work has been seen in Drive and Traffic .

According to an announcement from Ubisoft, Martinez’s portfolio will now include Far Cry 4 , as it has been revealed that he composed the soundtrack for the game. He worked with the music team from Ubisoft Montreal, which included music designer Jerome Angelot, supervisors Simon Landry and audio director Tony Gronick. The soundtrack in question is allegedly meant to bring life to both the game’s world and characters.

Gonick reportedly commented that working with Martinez to compose Far Cry 4’s music was a “ no-brainer ” and a “ dream ” experience.

It was an honor to be asked to write the music for the Far Cry 4 game as my first full-length video game soundtrack. It was exciting for me to be asked to take my usual minimalistic cinematic approach to the immersive game world. Any game where you can ride on a rampaging elephant is a project you can’t turn down! ” Martinez said in a statement.

Far Cry 4’s soundtrack reportedly became available digitally on Tuesday, November 4. A limited edition 2-CD version of the soundtrack will also be available as soon as Tuesday, December 2, according to Amazon US . It’ll also be available on Amazon UK on Monday, December 8. A 3-LP edition of the soundtrack is also promised for January, 2015.

FarCry 4 is slated to release on Tuesday, November 18 in North America and Europe for PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. We’ll bring you more news on FarCry 4 should further information reach our ears.
