Activision is Already Working On Destiny 2

Activision is Already Working On Destiny 2

According to a recent post-earnings financial call, Destiny 2 is already in development. This news comes from Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg who stated that development has started on the next “full game” in the Destiny series. In addition, work has also begun on future expansion packs.

Activision has always said that they would be following a ten year plan for Destiny , so it’s safe to assume that they had plans for a sequel prior to even seeing the sales. The fact that early contracts between Bungie and Activision already called for multiple sequels only supports this theory. Not that Activision would have had a problem getting a sequel green-lit mind you. Activision has said that over 9.5 million registered users have joined the game, and that the average player plays about three hours. That’s a hit by any criteria.

Activision had nothing further to add about the upcoming Destiny sequel for now, but we will keep you updated as further information becomes available.
