Battlefield 4 Now Free on PC

Battlefield 4 Now Free on PC

EA’s new “Game Time” promotion is allowing Origin users to play Battlefield 4 for free. The game will be available free of charge for seven days, and the cool part is that those seven days can be whatever seven days you want.

Specifically, a clock starts when you finish downloading the game and boot it up for the first time, with a 168 hour timer on it. When the timer counts down to 0, your game is locked again. Until then, you can literally play the game without any limits. You can play any mode, create any loadout, and play the game specifically as if you purchased it. If you want to go further and purchase the game, your very same save files that were used during the trial will carry over. So you won’t have to worry about losing the progress you already made.

This is a pretty interesting way to handle the “demoing” of a game. Perhaps this could fill in the gap that renting games once filled. It’s basically like a free rental, just handled digitally.

What do you think? Are you going to play Battlefield 4 for free? Would you like this to be done with other games? Let us know in the comments.
