Hearthstone’s First Card Expansion Releases in December

Hearthstone’s First Card Expansion Releases in December

While “ Curse of Naxxramas ” added a singeplayer adventure to Hearthstone , some might said that it wasn’t a full-blown expansion to the game. However, those wishing for such were granted such during this year’s BlizzCon, where it was announced that the card collecting game will soon be receiving its very first card expansion, themed around goblins, gnomes and explosions.

Entitled “ Goblins vs. Gnomes ”, Hearthstone’s first card expansion will add over 120 new goblin- and gnome-themed cards for all to add to their decks and collections, as detailed by a press release. By comparison, Curse of Naxxramas added 30 new cards, and its considered that those 30 cards arguably shifted Hearthstone’s metagame significantly, so imagine what 120 new cards will do.

Goblins vs. Gnomes will introduce players to the rivalry between goblin and gnome engineers. While both being brilliant in mind, their various contraptions don’t always tend to work the way their intended, and usually invite unpredicted results. Hearhstone’s new cards will be likewise inspired by this, as they will be fill with wild and wacky inventions, as well as some familiar faces that’ll be familiar to both World of Warcraft and Hearthstone players, according to the press release.

“Goblins vs Gnomes is going to turn Hearthstone on its head, ” said Mike Morhaime, Blizzard’s CEO and co-founder. “ It introduces a ton of new cards with all-new options for decks and strategies, and we can’t wait to see all the crazy combinations players come up with.

Whilst Blizzard’s two other projects, “ Legacy of the Void ” and “ Overwatch ” won’t be hitting shelves until sometime next year, Goblins vs. Gnomes will be available on PC and iPad this coming December, and the new cards will be winnable in Hearthstone’s Arena mode and purchasable with in-game gold and real-life money.

We’ll bring you more news on Hearthstone and Goblins vs. Gnomes should further information reach our ears.
