Bungie Responds to Recent Halo 5 Leaks

With the circulation of recent leaks regarding the multiplayer of Halo 5: Guardians during this year’s first HaloFest, word came around that that the new addition to the Halo saga might include the aim-down-sight mechanic, something unseen in previous Halo games, as well as sprinting, which was introduced to the franchise for the first time in Halo: Reach via an armor pick-up.

Videos containing leaked gameplay footage of Halo 5’s multiplayer were spread like wild fire, and were subsequently snuffed out within a day; all but a very small few videos pertaining to the leaked footage have either been removed or have denied users from viewing said footage through unknown means.

Following the leaks, 343 Industries’ general manager, Bonnie Ross, took to Twitter to acknowledge the leaks, and the studio head for Halo 5: Guardians , Josh Holmes, also took to Twitter to debunk the leaks.

Leaks are always fun. Tune into #halofest for more on halo 5. Play it at the fest, play in Dec beta and give your thoughts.

No penalty to hip fire in H5, no movement penalty when scoping/zooming, no flinch. Tune in for the beta gameplay reveal at #HaloFest Monday.

From what’s said across communities like Reddit, the aim-down-sight instance that was featured was just a visual thing; one user believes that the weapon that was being used, the Battle Rifle, still functions the same as it did in previous Halo titles, and that the aim-down-sight was probably a redesign of the Battle Rifle’s aim-down-scope animation.

We’ll bring you more news on Halo 5: Guardians should further information reach our ears. The game is slated to release at some point in Q4 2015 for Xbox One.
