YouTuber Shows Off New Halo 5 Multiplayer Map

YouTuber Shows Off New Halo 5 Multiplayer Map

Since Halo 5: Guardian’s multiplayer Beta kicked off, there have been videos left, right and center about the new maps that the next Halo game will bring, and this video is no exception.

Claimed to be exclusive Beta footage of Halo 5’s multiplayer, YouTube channel Ready Up Live has posted a video of a new map that currently features in the games Beta, entitled “Empire”. The video itself shows off a Slayer game mode configuration, with Beta players (Ready Up Live included) competing in a four-on-four matchup. The gameplay was captured during this year’s first HaloFest, which occurred last weekend in Los Angeles.

Ready Up Live’s “Greenskull”, the YouTuber speaking in the video, provides post-commentary on the match and offers insight on some of the gunplay, gameplay and new mechanics currently featured in the Beta; he claims the gameplay in particular has a different learning curve, as he believes Halo 5 is more fast-paced than previous Halo games.

Greenskull also comments on the new multiplayer medals, along with audible feedback regarding weapon drops and player interaction without actually speaking, and touches on the controversial inclusion of aim-down-sights (“ADS”), stating, “ the fact is it does not change stuff. You’re still just as good at hip-firing[…]. Just because there’s a new animation for looking down the scope does not mean things are changed .”

Controversy about ADS being included in a Halo game was raised following rumors of leaked Beta gameplay footage being found online, which Bungie later responded to thereafter.

Also during HaloFest, top-notch Halo players competed for their chance to gain access to the multiplayer Beta via a Halo Invitational tournament to commemorate the impending launch of Halo: The Master Chief Collection .

You can watch Ready Up Live’s Halo 5: Guardian’s multiplayer Beta footage via the embedded video below, which can be viewed in 720p, 60 frames per second. Halo 5 is slated to release exclusively on Xbox One sometime next year. We’ll bring you more news on the game should further information reach our ears.
