Choppy Frame Rate and Performance Issues Reported for Assassin’s Creed: Unity

Choppy Frame Rate and Performance Issues Reported for Assassin’s Creed: Unity

Both upcoming Assassin’s Creed games, Assassin’s Creed: Unity and Assassin’s Creed: Rogue , released in North America at the beginning of the week, and the other regions will soon to be having their share of the games as the week goes on, too.

Whilst that’s a good thing, issues seem to be circulating around Assassin’s Creed: Unity following its release, specifically relating to players experiencing choppy frames rates and other performance problems.

It’s been reported that players have witnessed “ crazy low ” frame rates, along with bugs and texture pop-ins. One YouTuber in particular, ZeroX03 Gaming , captured some issues in action whilst on the PlayStation 4, showcasing extremely jittery gameplay for just climbing and shimmying across a small section of a church’s wall, which can be viewed below.

Reddit user Merkwerk also reports that the game’s frame rate on the PlayStation 4 is “ not even close to a locked 30 fps, it feels like it’s running at 20 something most of the time. I’ve had it drop way below that a couple of times already, ” they claimed.

It’s not just the PlayStation 4 version of the game that’s experiencing problems; Xbox One and even PC, users of which are reporting the same issues: low frame rate, texture pop-ins and a variety of other performance problems.

It’s a general consensus that Assassin’s Creed: Unity has been poorly optimized for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, with the game’s Steam community even arguing that you’ll need an extremely top-end PC to run Assassin’s Creed: Unity at a constant framerate.

I would like to warn anyone thinking about buying this game, ” said Reddit user thewouldbeking concerning the Xbox One version of the game. “ I got it with my Xbox bundle. I just started it, and it runs sub 30 frames per second constantly. I would advise to wait until its fixed or not buy it at all. It is practically unplayable.

It’s advised that potential buyers of Assassin’s Creed: Unity should hold off from getting the game until its bugs and issues have been fixed. We’ll bring you more news on the game should further information reach our ears.
