Halo Franchise Director Admits Fault with Master Chief Collection

The recently released Halo: The Master Chief Collection had bit of a botched launch in regards to its online multiplayer and matchmaking (as well as related issues), along with numerous other bugs and problems .

Whilst the game’s developer, 343 Industries, has delivered a patch to fix these problems, the studio has been honest about the game’s faults, and the Halo franchise development director, Frank O’Connor, has acknowledged these faults and has transparently explained what happened to cause them.

Can’t blame him for being steamed. We goofed, to put it politely, ” O’Connor said . Many of the little issues are connected to a single, bigger big issue that didn’t expose itself till we were in the wild and cascade from that.

There is lots more to do. No sleep till turkey day, ” he continued, confirming that game’s recently released patch won’t fix everything. He also added that party members being split across different teams is also being monitored: “ Party splitting has been addressed in matchmaking and is something we’re keeping a close eye on.

Finally, O’Connor added that 343 Industries will add the Halo: Combat Evolved playlist as soon as the studio feels confident that everything else is stable first.

We’ll bring you more news on Halo: The Master Chief Collection should further information reach our ears. The game is now available for Xbox One.
