Gearbox isn’t Writing Tales from the Borderlands’ Dialogue: “Telltale’s just better at that”

While working on its Game of Thrones series, Telltale Games has also been working its own adaptation of the Borderlands franchise, titled “ Tales from the Borderlands ”.

However, even though Gearbox Software owns the Borderlands IP, the episodic spin-off from Telltale won’t feature digalue written by Gearbox. Instead, Telltale was given the task of writing the series’ dialogue, because Gearbox believed that The Walking Dead developer was just better at it.

Myself and [Gearbox writer] Matt Armstrong are constantly going down to Telltale and basically sitting in story meetings with them, ” said Gearbox’s lead writer, Anthony Burch, said during a video interview about the game. “ We helped come up with the overall season arc of the story.

We’re not writing the actual dialogue because Telltale’s just better at that. But we’re trying to help see where the story’s going to go, where it fits into our overall Borderlands universe .”

Tales from the Borderlands will feature five episodes at $4.99 a pop, or you’re regional equivalent. If you’d like to secure all five episodes, and play them as the release, you’ll need to lay down £24,99. The series’ first episode, “ Zer0 Sum ”, in now available on Steam, and will launch on other platforms soon.
